View: India’s road to Net Zero – Not the time to cut back on Ambition or Purpose

The face of Ladakh is changing. From a mountain hinterland dependent upon agriculture and pastoralism, it is now being developed as a renewable energy hub. The region has 320 sunny days per year on average, and its valley terrain experiences frequent high wind conditions. Building on this, the national plan is to set up 10 gigawatts of green energy capacity through solar and wind parks.
