The Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) has notified the regulations of JERC (Procurement of Renewable energy) Regulations, 2010. In accordance with Regulation 1 of the aforementioned regulations, each distribution licensee shall purchase electricity (in kWh) from renewable energy sources, at a defined minimum percentage of the total consumption of all the consumers in its area during a year.
