NHPC Invites Bids for 1.2 GW ISTS-Connected Solar Power Projects

NHPC has invited bids to select developers to set up 1.2 GW interstate transmission system ISTS-connected solar power projects anywhere in India.

The last date for submitting bids is June 29, 2024. Bids will be opened on July 4.

The total capacity that can be offered should not surpass 600 MW without the greenshoe option and can go up to 1,200 MW for bidders utilizing the greenshoe option.

However, for projects in the north-eastern states and special category areas, the minimum contracted capacity a bidder can offer is 30 MW.

The processing fee for the cumulative capacity quoted by a bidder (bid capacity/contracted capacity) is structured as follows:

Bidders must pay ₹ 942,000 (~$11,301) /MW as an earnest money deposit.

They can set up their solar power projects anywhere in India on land they identify and either purchase or lease at their discretion, expense, risk, and responsibility.

Bidders must specify the proposed locations of their projects when submitting their bids.

Only commercially established and operational technologies must be deployed to minimize technology risks and ensure the successful commissioning of the projects.

The bidders’ net worth must be equal to or greater than the value calculated at ₹10 million (~$119,957)/MW of the project capacity as of the last date of the previous financial year.

They must have had a minimum annual turnover of ₹4.81 million (~$57,699)/MW of the quoted capacity in the previous financial year.

Recently, NHPC invited bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction package of a 200 MW grid-connected solar power project to be set up in Gujarat State Electricity Corporation (GSECL) ‘s renewable energy park at Khavda (GSECL Stage-3).
